Our Story

Martha’s Homestore started more than 10 years ago as a small Etsy shop, selling vintage homewares and carefully chosen pieces that I loved and wanted to share with other people.

What started online soon grew into something much bigger. The first bricks-and-mortar shop opened in Treforest, before Martha’s Homestore made its way to Pontypridd, where over the years we had three different spaces in the town.

Each shop had its own character, but the heart of Martha’s Homestore stayed the same: finding beautiful, unusual and useful things for the home, with sustainability the focus. Vintage ceramics, glassware, French finds, candles, cards, pantry treats and all the little things that make everyday life feel a bit more special.

After more than a decade of changing spaces and growing the business, Martha’s Homestore has come full circle in a way. We’re now mainly online, with a little bit of Martha’s Homestore still dotted around Pontypridd.

You can find a selection of our deli goods at The Bunch of Grapes, while Storyville stocks our cards, candles and soaps. And here online, you’ll find the wider collection of vintage homewares, gifts and other carefully chosen favourites.

For me, sustainability has always been part of the appeal of vintage. Giving something a second life, choosing pieces that are made to last and avoiding the endless cycle of buying new all help to create a more thoughtful home. I believe in buying fewer things, but choosing things you’ll love and use for years to come - whether that’s a vintage plate, a beautiful set of glasses, or something made by a small independent maker.

The shop may have changed, but the idea behind Martha’s Homestore hasn’t.
